Project Five: Personal project

So being the strange inventor I am i decided to make something that had motion, I gave a stump a mind of its own and a fan a new lease on life by creating this strange contraption.
First I started with the shell and it was interesting making what appeared to be a mind control helmet.
First assembly of the fan was perfect the hardest part was to make the rotor balanced with the remainder of the wooden circle.
then added the stand from the fan and wired it all back together.
the switch to control the speed even works you can see it hiding in the crack towards the left.

And finally the Video showing it's outwardly inhabitants.
Project Four: Tools

The tools project was to create something that either made a mark or sounds

For this I used a few things laying around, I choose the route of sound.
These were some old brass freeze plugs for a Chevy 350

 Top to a greddy B.O.V
Started to drill and assemble the symbols if you will...
Added my main tool: The brass plungerDecided to hang it on the wall for some interesting effects.

Then I added some more "tools" hung bells by thread
Added an electric motor to the gas motor just to get the compression sound.
 Final piece!

Here is a short video of the Noises in action, the electric motor wasn't hooked up at the time but the popping you here is about the sound you'd expect.

Project Three:

Deconstruct Objects and re-assemble to create a new object:

For this I used the Volt Gauge, and fuel gauge from my car and re designed its function.
The coolest part of the project is when I attached a 12v source the unit worked again.

Project Two: peep hole project

This next project was one I knew I was going to enjoy because it's exactly what I love about sculpture and that's working with my hands and tools. I started with an old clock that was manufactured during the 40's. It was of Japanese origin I believe it was Seikosha long drop regulator wall clock. It was by far a magnificent piece from the beginning.

this is the best representation of the original I could find, it's beautiful.

I started by removing the mechanics of it:

and I started to modify the casing to best suite my needs for the peep holes:

created the main cover and added the original glass

each compartment will have a peep hole:

Added the  hinge to seal up the box:
