Project Two: peep hole project

This next project was one I knew I was going to enjoy because it's exactly what I love about sculpture and that's working with my hands and tools. I started with an old clock that was manufactured during the 40's. It was of Japanese origin I believe it was Seikosha long drop regulator wall clock. It was by far a magnificent piece from the beginning.

this is the best representation of the original I could find, it's beautiful.

I started by removing the mechanics of it:

and I started to modify the casing to best suite my needs for the peep holes:

First project: plaster forms

The plaster turned out to be fun to work with, however there is a certain amount of planning I had to overcome due to the quick drying plaster... Laura did an excellent job explaining how to use the plaster and really be expressive and creative. It was very relieving to be so non objective and to have so much freedom with the media.
